Earn your Montessori credential while completing your bachelor’s degree

In the Spring of 2026 Virginia State University will begin offering a Montessori Early Childhood credential as part of their Early Childhood degree program through Virginia Center for Montessori Studies.

This in-residence model follows a semester schedule and meets during the day, two days a week over an 18-month period. The Montessori coursework is held at Troy Montessori School, directly across the street from the beautiful VSU campus.

Candidates do not need to be enrolled at VSU to use VCMS’s additional location, but have the flexibility to meet in Petersburg during the day two days a week through the traditional school year.
